Consistent hard work, support from parents led to my success; Mehak Talwar

New Delhi [India], May 2 (ANI): "Consistent hard work and support from my parents are the reasons I scored so well in the exams," Mehak Talwar from Delhi Public School, Rohini, who is among 18 students to secure the third position in the class 12 CBSE examinations, said on Thursday.
"I used to study for four hours daily, with a few breaks in between. I believe that if you love the subject you have taken, you can achieve anything," she told ANI.
A Humanities stream student, Mehak scored 497 out of 500 marks in board exams to grab the third rank nation-wide.
"My mother, father and grandmother are doctors. I hated maths, so I took up Humanities. I want to pursue psychology in the future. I want to thank my parents for supporting me throughout," she said.
Mehak also said that she is writing a book based on a Korean animation serial.
"My daughter is a self-made child. Her mantra to success is being regular and sincere in her studies," her mother said.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Thursday declared the result of class 12 board examinations.
The pass percentage jumped by 0.31 per cent this year and stood at 83.4 per cent. The top three performing regions are Thiruvananthapuram with 98.2 per cent, Chennai region with 92.93 per cent and Delhi with 91.87 per cent.
Hansika Shukla from Delhi Public School in Ghaziabad and Karishma Arora from Muzaffarnagar's SD Public School emerged as the national toppers with a score of 499 out of 500. (ANI)
