After successfully chasing down the target of 209 India achieved the record of chasing down their highest total in the T20I format. Earlier the record of chasing the highest total by India of 208 was against the West Indies. Suryakumar Yadav and Rinku Singh played a pivotal role in the chase.

Suryakumar Yadav's prowess in the T20 format was on showcase once again as he became the 10th leading six-hitter in T20I. He struck four sixes which took his tally to 108 getting past the likes of Glenn Maxwell (106), David Warner (105) and David Miller (106).
