“Is pressure coming from Big Brother…?” Manish Tewari raises questions after Afghan Embassy closure

New Delhi, Nov 24 (ANI): The Afghanistan embassy has announced the permanent closure of its diplomatic mission in New Delhi. The embassy cited “persistent challenges from the Indian government” behind their move. Despite “limitations in resources, power”, Afghan Embassy said it has worked “tirelessly” in the absence of a legitimate govt in Kabul. Over the past two years, Afghan community in India has witnessed a significant decline in Afghan refugees, students. As of now, there are no diplomats from the Afghan Republic in India. Those who served in the national capital have safely reached third countries, the embassy informed. Meanwhile, Congress MP Manish Tewari has questioned Centre over the recent development in Afghanistan Embassy. Notably, the Afghan embassy announced permanent closure of its operations citing “failure to meet Afghanistan’s interests” by Taliban regime.
